Hi, I’m Chris Blankenship, the guy whose website this is. It’s mostly a place for me to rant blog about what’s on my mind and the stuff that I’m doing, which is mostly related to technology and/or music, but is sometimes other things.

I graduated from the University of Mary Washington in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and I currently work as a SysAdmin at Reclaim Hosting. All that means is I’m good okay at using Linux. It does not mean I know how to fix your printer. Please don’t ask me to fix your printer. I don’t know how to fix your printer. No one does. Anyone who says they do is lying to you.

Prior to working as a SysAdmin I worked as a Public Computer Assistant at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library where I mostly fixed printers.

I’ve been making music since the early 2010s, some of which I have not actively tried to scrub from the internet. Usually it’s as a bassist (and lyricist) in some mediocre hardcore punk band, but I know my way around a (single specific) DAW well enough these days to make electronic noise that no one but me wants to listen to.

Besides music, another one of my creative outlets is writing short stories and novellas and whatnot. Sometimes I even write something that I like enough to put online for other people to read. Under my own name no less! I wouldn’t recommend reading anything I’ve written though; just because I like something enough to post doesn’t mean it’s actually written well.

In addition to English (my native language), I also speak a little German and Italian. That said, I’m terribly out of practice with the former and only have room for improvement with the latter, which means you’ll mostly find me speaking/writing in English (here and elsewhere) since I know that one the goodest.

I was ordained with the Church of the SubGenius (praise “Bob”) sometime around May 2014, so I’ve got that whole legally ordained minister thing going for me as well. It’s nice knowing that I’ll probably definitely be saved from the wrath of the X-ists when 5 July 1998 finally rolls around.

Have I mentioned that I’m vegan yet? No? Well, I’m vegan. There, obligation met. Increment your “annoying vegan” count by one.

Anyways, here is a small list of things that I think are cool and good and important. I do/have done them already, and suggest that you do them too.

If you don’t already have a means to contact me and for some reason want to, then good luck find me on one of the social media platforms linked below. I’ll respond if I see it and if I want to.
